Basketball, like any other sport, has the capability of opening many doors for one to be involved with the game. Coach was able to go from a middle/high school player to a Division 1(University of North Texas) athlete and then ultimately a 13 year professional overseas. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to play forever, he realized another opportunity for me with the game; passing on the knowledge. With I. J. U. Basketball, the aim is to teach the fundamentals of basketball up to advanced skill work, mental knowledge and proper work ethic that will lead to players becoming not only better basketball players but better individuals.​
Coach - Davis
Boys Director/Coach/Trainer
Coach Davis has over 14 years of experience playing basketball at the collegiate and professional level. Along with over 6 years experience coaching athletes of all levels, ages 4 to young adults. He played Division 1 basketball at Texas A&M University from 2006-2010. Each of those seasons he won a game in the NCAA tournament with one Sweet Sixteen appearance. He finished his collegiate career being the All Time Winningest Player in Texas A&M history. After leaving College Station, he took the road less traveled by going overseas to start his professional career. During his 10 years overseas, he was able to play basketball in 24 countries. While living overseas, he also spent time working in the community teaching the game of basketball in his free time to kids all over the world. This experience taught him that basketball is a universal language, no matter the native tongue. After retiring, he returned to Texas A&M University to work as part of the 2019-2021 Men’s Basketball Team. Since then, he has devoted all of his time to creating a community that not only makes great basketball players but well rounded athletes on and off the court.
